Our Solar Power Solution

Solahart was one of the first companies in the world to recognise the     value of  the sun’s free  energy. We pioneered solar water heating in Australia in 1953. Since then we have installed over 1 million systems in over 70 countries and have become a world leader in the field of solar energy. Today our solar power PV systems are among the most efficient in the world, offering big energy savings to homeowners who switch to solar panels and energy free from the sun.

At Solahart Adelaide South our Solahart Experts are qualified to assess your home and provide you with the best systems to meet your family’s needs.

Our installers are trained to the highest standards to ensure the safety and effectiveness of your system. All this is backed by our comprehensive warranties and the peace of mind you’ll get from dealing with Australia’s solar pioneer.

Solahart solar power systems which are amongst the most efficient in the world deliver more power for each watt installed. Our solar panels are high performance and made from quality crystalline cells. Each cell is individually tested and power matched to ensure consistent performance between the cells of the panel. Solahart panels are designed to be durable and engineered to meet the highest quality standards and provide a stable, consistent power output. Our solar panels are certified to International Standards IEC 61215 & IEC 61730 and meet the requirements of all relevant Australian authorities.

Solahart has a range of solar power products to suit your particular situation.

How Solar Power Systems Work

How Solar Power Systems WorkSolar power panels generate electricity from sunlight.how a solar power system works

The roof mounted solar panels are made up of many photovoltaic (PV) cells. These cells collect the sun’s light and convert the energy into DC current. This is fed through an inverter and converted to 240V AC electricity to power your home. The amount of electricity you can produce depends on the number and efficiency of the panels, the size of the inverter and the amount of sunlight in your location.

Your home remains connected to the power grid so when you generate more electricity than you need you can feed it into the grid or purchase more from the grid when you are not producing enough to meet your requirements.

As part of the installation you may need to upgrade your meter.

Looking at Solar Power? There Are a Few Things to Consider

If you’re keen to reduce your energy use with solar power there are a few things worth considering.

Your Daily Power Usage Patterns

Solar power panels need the sun’s light so they only generate electricity during the day, so it’s most economical to install a system that can supply your expected daytime electricity usage.

Of course any electricity you don’t use isn’t wasted - you’ll be able to sell it back to the grid at a feed in tariff agreed with your electricity provider. These tariffs vary by energy retailer

Your Roof Space and Orientation

Our smallest solar power system needs just 10 sqm of roof space to generate around 30% of the average Australian household’s energy use. The more power you would like to generate the bigger the roof space you will need.

In Australia, solar power systems are most efficient when installed on a North facing roof.  The further from North your roof faces, the more the efficiency of the system is reduced.

Shading from objects such as buildings, trees, antennas or power lines will reduce the effectiveness of your solar panels.
